Role: Financial Analyst -FP&A

SponsorUnited is looking for a Financial Analyst -FP&A with a strong background in SaaS and expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, financial statements and ERP systems. This role will play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s growth. The successful candidate will play a central role in driving data-driven decision-making across three key areas: budgets and forecast, financial and operational reporting, and financial modeling and analysis.. This person will have high integrity, thrive on learning, value continuous improvement, enjoy contributing insights, aspire to collaborate as part of a team and willingly assist in any area needed.

This is the first FP&A hire and will report to the CFO.


(While this position is fully remote, we have a preference for candidates located in the Boston area. This preference is to facilitate occasional in-person meetings and collaboration sessions that can enhance team dynamics and project outcomes)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Modeling: Create comprehensive financial models for budgeting and forecasting, covering all financial statements including the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Variance Analysis: Conducted detailed variance analyses to compare budgeted or forecasted figures against actual results, highlighting key trends.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Create a robust budgeting and forecasting infrastructure, including the creation of templates, models, and the design and implementation of systems to track and report trends.
  • ARR Management and Reporting: Track, report and analyze Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), including identifying trends and metrics.
  • ARR Forecasting: Develop and refine ARR forecasting models, using historical data, key drivers, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Business Partnership: Partnered with department heads to facilitate expense planning, analyze financial data, offer insights into cost trends and support business needs.
  • Reporting Package Management: Managed and updated reporting packages to display financial, operational, and key performance indicators (KPIs) organization-wide.
  • Financial Analysis Support: Provided essential financial analysis for special projects, investment decisions, and strategic planning.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensured financial compliance and integrity, strictly adhering to regulations and internal policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA is highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a preference for candidates with prior SaaS experience at progressive companies or private equity.
  • Outstanding analytical and financial modeling abilities, proven success in converting financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with financial planning software such as NetSuite and ERP’s such as Salesforce and Hubspot
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles including GAAP And revenue recognition
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across different teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and work effectively with data.
